Self-initiated projects allow us to challenge and explore issues of expression and authorship through the process of design and writing. From humble beginnings in 1997 as a photocopied document, the Language Diary developed into a collaborative project that became a creative highlight for ten years. A a gift to ourselves, friends, clients and collaborators, it became a crafted object that was desired, admired, and – most importantly – used. It was an opportunity to experiment with printing techniques, materials and formats, explore styles, test and challenge our own creativity. Each year we chose a different theme and invited artists, writers and designers to contribute a piece. Over a decade, the Language Diary became a coveted and award-winning piece. And one of which we are very proud!
