Switch Your Bank is here to remind people that switching bank is a really straight-forward process. Our integrated campaign for the Department of Finance encourages people to treat banks like any other household utility, whether it’s a mortgage, current account or credit card. 

Research tells us that most people think that the switching process is complex, are unaware of the CBI Switching Code or that 99% of switches are completed successfully within 10 working days. However, most people who have switched found the process easier than they thought it would be.

The campaign website provides straightforward practical information and support on switching with links to CCPC comparison tools and calculators.

This campaign is funded by AIB and Permanent TSB as part of a range of competition measures agreed with the European Commission to raise awareness and promote customer switching of financial products. The Department of Finance is promoting this campaign as part of its remit to ensure that consumers are protected within the financial sector in Ireland and to ensure a healthy level of competition.
